Splendid sea view

This very comfortably equipped and detached holiday villa Villa El Refugio is located on Monte de los Almendros in Salobreña on the Costa Tropical in Andalucia. The numerous beaches and coves are just a few minutes away, and you have breathtaking views to the near Mediterranean sea! There are several sun terraces as well as canopied shade terraces, perfect for sunbathing and relaxing.

In 2009, the house has been completely renovated! Now, it offers a private infinity pool (~7.5m x 3.5m), new floor covering all over, and the kitchen has been furnished with brand new equipment of highest quality. The bathrooms also offer an exceptionally high standard, with modern sanitary accessories.


On the upper level (the Villa has two levels), you will find the spacious living area, with comfortable lounge room with UK + German satellite TV, a large open fireplace for winter days, and the kitchen and the dining area.

There is now a 32 inch flat screen (the photos still show the smaller previous model) and 2 satellite dishes with lots of UK channels: All five BBC channels, four ITV channels, channel FIVE, Sky news and approximately 160 other channels showing feature films, sports, music and news, plus there is German Astra and some Spanish and French channels.

Villa El Refugio also offers a free Internet access (WiFi), a DVD player and stereo.

The lounge and dining area both have double sliding doors to the private, canopied terrace with gorgeous sea-view. The living room gives direct access to the private swimming pool and to the large sunny pool terrace, with plenty of garden and terrace furniture available.

The kitchen is well-equipped – with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, stove and hob as well as other necessary appliances – and opens onto the canopied breakfast terrace.

On the lower level of the holiday villa there are 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom has 1 double bed, en-suite bath with bath-tub, and a large private terrace with a waterfall feature. The second bedroom has 2 single beds, shower en-suite and private terrace. A study “nook” offers a further single bed, as well as a 3rd WC.

All rooms in this house have sea views, including the main bathroom! Dolphins can been seen in the sea below the house.

There is a beautiful garden filled with tropical flowers, trees and palms. A BBQ area with table and chairs allows for meals outside, overlooking the Mediterranean sea. The garden is a wonderful relaxing and peaceful place!

You can park your car in front of the property as well as in the private, lockable garage.

With its magnificent views and comfortable renovation, our villa is without doubt one of the best offers on Monte de los Almendros!

If required, and at a very reasonable price, a food package can be supplied on arrival, so your holiday can start right away! Please notice, that pets are not allowed in Villa El Refugio and that due to the open pool the property is not suitable for children under 5 years. We also ask you not to smoke inside the house – just outside.

Within just a few minutes by foot, there is the large pool area, for sole use of the residents of Monte de los Almendros and their guests. Here, you also find a children's pool and a tennis court. All facilities are cost-free.

An 18 hole golf course at Motril is a 10 minute drive away.

Excellent shopping facilities are available at Al Campo in Motril, less than a 10 minute drive.

Monte de Almendros is part of the Costa del Sol / Costa Tropical region of Andalucia. The surrounding villages have some of the best scenery on this stretch of the coast, including the "Cuevas de Nerja" nearby, which are huge caves thought to be between 12.000 and 20.000 years old, but only discovered in 1959.

You can also wander through the narrow streets of the many nearby mountain villages, visit the water park, bird park, or one of the many historic sites, or travel slightly further afield to the beautiful Alhambra palace in Granada.
