The very beautiful and attractive holiday apartment El Oasis del Mar has just been renovated and is available from February 2010 for early birds. It is full of colors and decorated very trendy, fresh and stylish. El Oasis del Mar has an exceptional location as it's almost on the sand, right on the beach Playa de la Guardia in Salobrena, Andalucia. La Guardia is a very quiet and still a bit "wild" beach. From September to July, it is almost empty, and thus a wonderful place for those seeking tranquility. Nevertheless, up to the lively tourist centers of Salobreña and Almuñecar with countless shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants it is just a few minutes by car. The apartment has 2 bedrooms. The Habitación Roja, the 'red bedroom' has a double bed and Habitación Pistacho, the 'green bedroom', has 2 single beds. There are two new bathrooms, one with bath and toilet and the other with shower and toilet. The brand new kitchen is a little jewel - very modern and colorful, and directly connected to the living room. If you look down from the double bedroom and the living you are "on the beach". La Guardia Beach is surrounded by sugar cane plantations (very few left in Europe) and in a very rural, genuine and almost unspoiled environment – an exceptional spot for nice and peaceful walks along the beach or in the middle of the plantations. In the months of July and August, many locals from Granada come to visit this part of the coast in Andalucia.
Two bars on the beach offer refreshments, and there is also a small shop named "Casi de todo", which means 'almost everything'. The picturesque small town of Salobrena has about 10,000 inhabitants and is located about 5 minutes drive from Monte de los Almendros, on a hill with a majestic, at night illuminated castle on the top. Along Salobrena's promenade there are numerous restaurants and tapas bars for enjoying the culinary specialities of the region. A rock rising from the Mediterranean separates the most important beaches from Salobrena: La Playa del Peñón, in the more settled area with many shops, restaurants and services, and the Playa the de la Guardia, a more extensive but wilder beach between tropical cultivations and the sea. Many beautiful hidden bays invite to diving and sun bathing. You'll find your "own" within a few minutes. |

Location: The Costa Tropical is the eastern part of the Costa del Sol, south of Granada, and stretches from Nerja to Motril. This part of the coast with North Africa on one side and the Sierra Nevada on the other side is superbly sheltered against the cold European north winds. Because of the subtropical climate with 320 days of sunshine throughout the year, the climate is ideal for "summer holidays" even in winter. Directions: The nearest airport is Malaga Airport (about 1 hour drive), but also Almeria and Granada are an option. A car is recommended and car hire can be arranged.
