Within the past 25 years, Monte de los Almendros has only developed slowly and the private villas are embedded peacefully into tropical gardens and there are no uniform hotel buildings around.Salobrena and Monte de los Almendros offers sumptuous attractions for your holidays.
Salobrena
To the long-stretching beaches of Salobrena it is only just about 10 minutes by car from Monte de los Almendros.
Salobrena
Additional to the private swimming pools which most villas offer you can use the spacious pool area with children's pool, a playground, 2 tennis courts and a football field free of charge.

The Costa Tropical is situated directly at the Mediterranean, in the province of Granada, and the proximity to the north of Africa and to the Sierra Nevada with the highest mountains of the Spanish peninsula protects the area against the cold north winds.

A subtropical climate with 320 days of sunshine throughout the year makes it possible to cultivate tropical fruits in the sumptuous green valleys.

In summer it is, contrary to the main centers of the Costa del Sol, not that terribly hot and overcrowded, but in winter it is quite warmer, so that also the winter months are perfect for a stay, since one has countless possibilities of discovering the beautifulnesses of Andalucia from here.

Salobrena

Monte de los Almendros offers fantastic, breathtaking panoramic views to Salobrena, the often snow-covered foothills of the Sierra Nevada and the coastline of the Costa Tropical.

Contrary to other places on the Costa del Sol this area is still unaffected by mass-tourism and owns its wealth primarily because of the agriculture with cultivating cane, mangos, chirimoyas and bananas.

Salobrena

The picturesque small town of Salobrena has about 10,000 inhabitants and is located about 5 minutes by car from Monte de los Almendros, on a hill with a majestic, at night illuminated castle on the top.

Along Salobrena's promenade there are numerous restaurants and tapas bars for enjoying the culinary specialities of the region. Only here, on the Costa Tropical, delicious little snacks, called tapas, are still served for free with the wine.

A rock rising from the Mediterranean separates the most important beaches from Salobrena: La Playa del Peñón, in the more settled area with many shops, restaurants and services, and the Playa the de la Guardia, a more extensive but wilder beach between tropical cultivations and the sea.

Many beautiful hidden bays invite to diving and sun bathing. You'll find your "own" within a few minutes.

Golf Club "Los Moriscos" near Salobrena
Salobrena

If you love to play golf "Los Moriscos Golf" in Salobrena's neighbouring town Motril on the Costa Tropical in Andalucia is looking forward to your visit!
Salobrena
Despite it has only 9-holes, you'll probably need nearly all racquets from your golf bag. The place was built fantastically in the area, lies directly at the sea, embedded in palm gardens and sugar cane plantations.

Don't miss to visit Granada with its world-famous Alhambra, or beautiful Malaga on the Costa del Sol!

To both cities it is only about one hour by car. Also worth a visit are the beautiful caves of Nerja, which are located on the road to Malaga.

And the southernmost skiing area of Europe, where the ski world championships 1996 took place, is only approx. 100 km from here! Only in the summer months the Sierra Nevada strips its white hood.

The highest mountain, the Pico Mulhacén reaches the height of 3482m and to the neighbouring Pico de Veleta leads the highest road of Europe. Here the skiing area is open starting from a height of 2000 meters. In summer one can normally drive on the summit of the Pico de Veleta by car. And with clear view one even sees the coast of Africa!
