Costa Tropical is protected against northern winds due to its location on the Mediterranean Sea and its proximity to Sierra Nevada, with the highest mountains of the peninsula – these circumstances create a microclimate with more than 300 days of sun per year.

LA HERRADURA

La Herradura is part of the community Almunecar. It's impressive bay fascinates everybody who is visiting Costa Tropical for the first time.
It is surrounded by Punta de la Mona in the East and by nature reserve Cerro Gordo in the West – natural mountain peaks which provide tranquillity and protect both ships as well as bathing guests against western and eastern winds.
The beach of La Herradura, with its specific characteristics, is a pleasurable and ideal place to linger on. Numerous bars on the beach and restaurants indulge guests with regional culinary specialties, just as seafood, delicious paella and, of course, a good glass of wine.
In La Herradura, the ocean's ground is amazingly rich. Therefore, it has become a centre of water sports over the years. Several clubs and associations offer various water sports courses for beginners and advanced learners.
It is always possible to perform water ski, sailing, navigation, paragliding or other kinds of sport on the beach.
Just next to the holiday apartment you will find three golf courts: Anoreta Golf, Baviera Golf and Los Moriscos Golf.
